The high-quality down used in Fjällräven clothing and gear comes from the food industry and is tested according to US standards. Fjällräven has only one down supplier with whom they have a close, active dialogue throughout the entire extraction process. The supplier has signed Fjällräven’s Code of Conduct, which among other things regulates animal welfare. It has also signed an agreement prohibiting the live plucking of birds. The down process is constantly monitored through pre-organized as well as unannounced visits by Fjällräven’s quality assurance team.
